Savannah is located on Georgia's Atlantic coast, 250 miles to the southeast of Atlanta. Hilton Head is only 45 miles up the coast. The Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport serves both cities. Savannah boasts a population of 145,000 people, but you never get the feeling that you are in a large city. The small-town, Southern friendliness permeates the community.
Although Savannah gives off tourist vibes, some notable businesses are headquartered there. One is Gulfstream Aerospace, an aircraft company. TMX Finance, Citi Trends, and Southeastern Shipbuilding Corporation are also based in Savannah.
