Palm Springs
Nicknamed the "Golf Capital of the World", Palm Springs first became popular for another sport — tennis. The Palm Springs Tennis Club and the Palm Springs Racquet Club first brought visitors to this sunny, Southern California city.
Situated in the Sonoran Desert, Palm Springs takes its name from the plentiful trees and the natural hot springs. Take a break from your play to admire the mid-century-modern architecture and stroll through the vintage boutiques. Enjoy a stay at one of the elegant hotels and dine at chic restaurants.
As a desert community, Palm Spring can get hot in the summertime. If you love the heat, this will be an ideal time to plan your visit. More pleasant temperatures, however, occur from December through April. This is when most visitors come to Palm Springs, which has an average of 350 days of sunshine per year, making it a perfect destination for more than a million and a half visitors each year.
Palm Spring's Location
